    1. There are "fuse wires" down at the battery connections. How are you powering the radio

  2. Yes, its the main question. Lets go starting from the power thru the accessories to main unit...
I am recommending to open the battery pack first (2 screws on both sides) and check the fuse wire in the cover. You will find soldered wire in the grey socket. If it is blown then simply buy in local electronics shop the 4A fuse (glass one) and carefully remove the wire from it and solder it to the cover. You can check with DMM that You have 6V at the red and blue wires and also on the upper contacts of the battery cover.

the battery pack container is possible to find on the local flea market sometime for about $8-$12 depends to seller.
The D-cells are available new in local electronics shops as same as from internation distributors like Mouser, DigiKey etc. I hope.

    1. Using a 5 'D' cell battery holder and brass screws to connect them in series you can make them yourself.

  5. Hi Alex,
yes it is really good radio. I made several QSOs with it and never had problem. Very durable, sensitive... if it is in good condition then it will provide good service for you. Last ES I heard several Gs on band... unfortunately not worked because of small mobile antenna only. It is running 1W out. Mni people saying it is much better than similar PRC from USA :)

  7. Don,
box A is very rare to find. I did not see it for years on the auctions or flea market.
The handset connector is time to time available on www.aukro.cz or on eBay...
    regards,
    Petr
